Celtic is aiming to bring in as many as four new players before the deadline for registering their Europa League squad on Wednesday, according to assistant manager Shaun Maloney.

The Scottish club has already secured the loan signing of Parma midfielder Oliver Sorensen. Maloney indicated that further additions could be made within the next 24 to 48 hours, especially in the striker position.

"All the guys that we'd be looking to try and bring in, with that European deadline we want to try and get them in the squad if we can," Maloney stated. "We'll be looking to strengthen that squad, particularly European squad for that deadline."

He added that the club is focusing on a few key positions and potentially more for the future. The Scottish transfer window closes on Thursday at 17:00 BST.

Maloney also commented on the future of midfielder Hatate, who joined Celtic in January 2022 and has scored 33 goals in 191 appearances. "He's a brilliant player," Maloney said. "What he's done at the club has been really, really good. He's won many titles here. If he does move on then he'll remember how good a player he was for this club."
