Cameron Menzies experienced a medical emergency during his World Matchplay second-round match on Wednesday, leading to his withdrawal from the competition. The incident occurred in Blackpool while Menzies was competing against Ross Smith.

Menzies, representing Scotland, stepped away from the oche while leading the match 2-1. He appeared unsteady on his feet and was assisted off the stage by both his opponent and the referee. Following an assessment by the on-site medical team, Menzies was cleared by medics backstage. However, he was deemed unable to continue the match and subsequently forfeited.

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) confirmed that Menzies experienced high blood pressure, which caused him to feel dizzy and faint. The organization stated that Menzies was well enough to return to his accommodation and wished him a swift recovery. The PDC looks forward to his return to action soon.
