Caleb Wilson, the No. 4 overall pick in the recent NBA draft, has set his sights on winning Rookie of the Year in his inaugural season with the Chicago Bulls. At his introductory press conference on Friday, Wilson articulated high expectations for himself and his new team.

"I expect to have Rookie of the Year, honestly," Wilson told reporters. "I'm going to work hard. I'm going to do what it takes. I feel like this team is really good for me and how I envision to play." He added that he is striving to be more than an average player, aiming instead to become one of the greatest.

Wilson brings a decorated collegiate career to Chicago. Before joining the Bulls, he played at North Carolina, where he averaged 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game on 57.8 percent shooting during his freshman campaign. Despite missing the final nine games of that season due to hand injuries, he was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team. His high school accolades include leading Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School in Atlanta to a state title in 2025 and earning Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year honors the same year.

The 19-year-old forward joins a Bulls team embarking on a new era under new head coach Tiago Splitter. Wilson will be part of a young core that includes No. 15 overall pick Dailyn Swain, 2024 first-rounder Matas Buzelis, and Josh Giddey.

"It's crazy, honestly. It feels like a fresh start," Wilson said of joining the Bulls. "I feel like we have the things we need to be a great team. I know I'll step in and be a leader, lead by example and making sure that I get this city to back where it was."

Fans may see Wilson in action during the upcoming summer league, where the Bulls are scheduled to face the Grizzlies, Jazz, and Wizards.
