Bryson DeChambeau, a prominent golfer in the LIV Golf league, has fueled speculation about the circuit's future with a social media post that many interpret as a farewell. DeChambeau shared a series of photos on Instagram documenting his time with LIV Golf, including images of him celebrating victories. The post was captioned, "It was a good run."
This sentiment comes at a time when LIV Golf's financial backing is reportedly uncertain beyond the 2026 season. The league's primary financial supporter, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), is said to have withdrawn financial guarantees past 2026. This development is reportedly linked to LIV Golf's struggle to capture significant viewership and interest compared to the established PGA Tour.
Further evidence of LIV Golf's precarious position emerged last week with the cancellation of its team championship event, originally scheduled for late August in Michigan. Consequently, the tournament held in Indianapolis this past weekend served as the de facto conclusion for both individual and team championships for the season.
Jon Rahm secured the individual points championship, and his team, Legion XIII, claimed the team season title. DeChambeau finished second in individual points.
During his four seasons with LIV Golf, DeChambeau achieved considerable success. He won five individual LIV Golf titles, and his team, Crushers GC, amassed 11 regular-season tournament victories, the most in league history. His earnings from the 2026 season alone exceeded $15 million, with his total earnings throughout his LIV Golf tenure estimated at over $180 million, significantly boosted by an estimated $125 million signing bonus in 2022.
