Bryson DeChambeau has added fuel to speculation that he may be leaving LIV Golf after posting a cryptic message on social media to mark the conclusion of the 2026 season. The post came as the LIV Golf tour faces uncertainty about its future funding.

Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, a primary financial backer of the LIV Golf league, announced it would cease funding beyond the current year. This announcement sent shockwaves through the golf world, casting doubt on the futures of prominent players, including DeChambeau and Jon Rahm.

LIV CEO Scott O'Neil recently stated that the tour had secured new investment to continue beyond this season. However, he was unable to confirm whether DeChambeau, one of golf's most recognizable figures, would remain with LIV Golf past the end of his current contract. DeChambeau's deal was reportedly valued at over $100 million and was set to expire at the conclusion of the 2026 season.

DeChambeau's social media activity on Monday did little to quell concerns that he has played his final event with LIV. He shared a series of photographs from his tournament victories over the past few years, accompanied by the caption, "It was a good run."

The 2026 LIV Golf season concluded prematurely in Indianapolis last week with the cancellation of both the individual and team championships. Following the season's end, DeChambeau hinted at a potential continuation with the tour as it transitions to what he referred to as "LIV 2.0."

"It has been an interesting ride, that's for sure, everything we've gone through, and the tough moments we've had. It's made us stronger," DeChambeau said. "As much as we are transitioning from LIV 1.0 to LIV 2.0, I have great thoughts about what could happen next year. I wish I could be more upfront about it."

He added, "Ultimately I'm proud of the fact of what we've done, the good and some of the bad that we've unfortunately had, things that have occurred, I'm going to be real with it, not everything was perfect. But for the most part we've done a solid job and if there's one thing I could say, we did something different in the game of golf and I'm proud of that."

DeChambeau concluded his remarks by stating, "I think there's something fun coming."

Earlier reports from April indicated that DeChambeau had engaged in discussions about leaving LIV Golf during the Masters tournament. At that time, it was suggested that the American player was seeking up to $500 million to remain with the breakaway series.

His current deal, reportedly worth more than $100million, ran until the end of the 2026 season

LIV CEO Scott O'Neil has said he 'certainly hopes' DeChambeau will remain on the rebel tour

The situation for LIV Golf players seeking to return to the PGA Tour remains complex. Brooks Koepka, another high-profile golfer who moved to LIV, has since rejoined the PGA Tour. However, Rory McIlroy recently commented that the path back for others could be challenging, suggesting they might not be welcomed back immediately.
