Sydney Swans player Brodie Grundy and his wife Rachael are expecting their first child, due in August. Grundy shared the news Wednesday night through a series of photos on social media.

The images showed the couple celebrating the announcement at a beach location. In one photo, Rachael's baby bump was visible as Grundy cradled her stomach. He captioned the post, "Baby boy on the horizon, we can't wait for August."

Fellow athletes and media personalities offered congratulations in the comments section. The Sydney Swans official account and Sunrise reporter James Tobin were among those who shared their well wishes.

The announcement follows Grundy's marriage to Rachael in October, which took place at Kingsbrook Estate in Currency Creek, South Australia. Several AFL players attended the wedding.

Grundy, 32, and Rachael, a physiotherapist with a Juris Doctor degree, have been together since their school years, reportedly dating since around 2012. Rachael relocated her practice to Sydney after Grundy moved from the Melbourne Demons to the Swans at the end of 2023. The couple announced their engagement in December 2023.
