New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart has acknowledged a decline in her 3-point shooting performance over the past three seasons and is taking direct action to address it. Stewart expressed her frustration during a recent workout with Liberty director of player development Andrew Wade, stating her desire to be held accountable for missed shots.
Stewart's 3-point percentage has seen a downward trend since she joined the Liberty prior to the 2023 season. Last season, she recorded a career-low 24.1 percent from beyond the arc, making just 21 of 54 attempts. This figure is down from 29.5 percent during the Liberty's championship-winning 2024 season and 35.5 percent in her MVP season in New York. Currently, Stewart is shooting 20.4 percent on 54 attempts from three-point range.
Stewart's commitment to improving her shooting is evident in her proactive approach, signaling a determination to regain her previous level of offensive production from distance. The team, which includes key players like Sabrina Ionescu, is aiming for continued success in the league.
