BoyleSports will continue as West Ham United's shirt sponsor for the upcoming Championship season, providing a significant boost to the club following their relegation from the Premier League. The decision comes despite serious allegations of sexual misconduct published against co-owner David Sullivan.
The Irish bookmaker's multi-year deal was set to be reviewed, particularly as new Premier League regulations would have prevented their continued presence on shirts had the club remained in the top flight. BoyleSports had previously expressed concern upon learning that Sullivan was subjected to a safeguarding ban, imposed since 2023 due to historical allegations following an FA investigation. These allegations, which Sullivan denies, involve accusations of preying on young women for sex.
Sullivan has resigned from his role, a move that has seen Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky increase his stake in the club to 43 percent, becoming the largest shareholder. The Independent Football Regulator is reportedly monitoring the situation, and Sullivan may be compelled to sell his stake.
BoyleSports CEO Vlad Kaltenieks stated that West Ham United is a recognizable club with a rich history and passionate fanbase. "We were proud to begin our partnership last season, but this is only the start and we look forward to an exciting season ahead," Kaltenieks said.
Karim Virani, West Ham's Interim Chief Executive Officer, expressed delight at the continuation of the partnership. "As we enter an exciting new era for the club and prepare for a pivotal season, it matters that our commercial partners share the same passion and drive that we have for our loyal fans," Virani added. "BoyleSports has approached the partnership in that spirit, and we look forward to continuing to work with them."
