Bournemouth are in the process of finalizing a transfer deal for Elche striker Alvaro Rodriguez, according to reports. The agreement for the 21-year-old Uruguayan international is valued at approximately £21 million, with potential additional clauses that could increase the total fee.
Rodriguez began his career at Real Madrid before transferring to Elche in 2025. Last season, he scored seven goals in La Liga, including notable strikes against Barcelona and Real Madrid. He featured in 36 matches across all competitions for Elche during the previous campaign.
He is expected to travel to the UK this weekend to undergo a medical examination and finalize personal terms. The signing comes as Bournemouth prepares for the upcoming season under the management of Marco Rose, who was appointed following the departure of Andoni Iraola.
In related personnel changes, coaches Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper have left Bournemouth to join Liverpool, where they will work with former manager Iraola. Both Elphick and Cooper are former Bournemouth captains with extensive playing histories at the club.
