Belgium ended the United States' World Cup dream with a decisive 4-1 victory in the round of 16, marking the second time the European nation has eliminated the U.S. at this stage. The loss in Seattle concluded the American co-hosts' tournament.

Following the match, FOX Sports soccer analysts Zlatan Ibrahimović and Thierry Henry provided their perspectives on the U.S. team's performance.

Ibrahimović stated that the U.S. was outplayed by a superior Belgian side, acknowledging that while it was arguably the Americans' weakest game of the tournament, they faced a formidable opponent. Despite the outcome, he viewed the tournament as a success for the U.S. program, calling the loss a "reality check" and suggesting the team had achieved its maximum potential.

"The result today is not good, but in the end I think it was a good one," Ibrahimović said. "They did the maximum they could in this tournament. Yes, you can have luck and you can go further but I think it was a reality check for the U.S."

Henry expressed disappointment with the U.S. team's inability to respond offensively when trailing. He specifically pointed to the third goal as a turning point that diminished any hope of a comeback. Henry concluded that the manner of the defeat indicated a lack of progress for the American program.

"When you consider going out like that, you’re going nowhere," Henry commented.
