Dan “Big Cat” Katz, a prominent personality from Barstool Sports and co-host of the “Pardon My Take” podcast, is among the 10 finalists for an honorary offensive coordinator position with the University of Akron football team. The role would allow the winner to assist in creating the first-series plays for the Zips' home opener against Robert Morris on September 12.

Akron is holding a sweepstakes for season ticket holders, with each ticket counting as an entry. Katz revealed on X that he purchased 18 season tickets for a chance to participate in the unique promotion. He expressed his desire to "see shark wheel right in Robert Morris’s face" during the opening drive.

Katz stated that he is donating his tickets to a nonprofit organization called “Tickets For Kids,” which aims to provide equitable access to experiences for underserved youth. He mentioned that any unused tickets will also be given to the organization.

Akron head coach Joe Moorehead is working to improve the program, which has seen an increase in wins over the past three seasons. However, the team's offense ranked eighth in the Mid-American Conference last year, averaging 22.3 points per game. The selected fan will collaborate directly with Moorehead on the game's opening plays, marking a novel initiative for the Akron program.

The winner of the contest is scheduled to be announced on Tuesday.
