Baron Corbin has recaptured the WWE United States Championship, defeating Trick Williams at SummerSlam on Sunday. The victory marks Corbin's second reign as U.S. champion.
Williams, accompanied by his valet Lil Yachty, initially held an advantage. However, Lil Yachty's involvement in the match ultimately proved detrimental. At one point, Lil Yachty threatened Corbin with the "Trick Stick," a move that drew Corbin's attention. Later, as Lil Yachty stood on the apron, Corbin hip-checked Williams into him, causing Lil Yachty to crash through a table.
With the referee momentarily distracted, Corbin seized the opportunity, striking Williams with the championship belt. He then followed up with his End of Days finishing maneuver to secure the pinfall and the title.
Williams's reign as U.S. champion concludes after 105 days. He originally won the title from Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42. Corbin's previous U.S. championship reign began in 2017.
Following his departure from WWE in 2024, Corbin competed on the independent wrestling scene, holding a tag team championship in Major League Wrestling before his return to WWE.
