British wildcard Arthur Fery is set to compete for a spot in the Wimbledon semi-finals when he faces Italian ninth seed Flavio Cobolli on Wednesday. Fery, currently ranked 114th in the world, expressed surprise at his own progress to the quarter-finals after defeating Grigor Dimitrov in the previous round.

Cobolli, 24, who was the runner-up at last month's French Open, has a strong record on grass courts and reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals last year. Despite Cobolli's higher ranking and experience, Fery has been identified as a player who can pose a unique challenge on grass.

Jamie Murray, a BBC Sport analyst, noted that Fery will still be considered the underdog but highlighted his capabilities on grass. "He has proven to be a great grass-court player and poses a lot of different questions to opponents," Murray stated. Fery's potential advancement would make him only the fifth British man to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals in the Open era, a feat not achieved since 1968. Arthur Fery celebrates at Wimbledon
