Ange Postecoglou has been appointed as the new manager of Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, where he will manage Cristiano Ronaldo. The club announced the move on their X account, stating, "A New Chapter... Mr. Ange Postecoglou is the head coach of Al Nassr's first football team with a contract lasting two seasons."

Postecoglou takes over from Jorge Jesus, who recently guided the team to the Saudi Pro League title. This appointment marks Postecoglou's return to football management after a brief and challenging tenure at Nottingham Forest, where he was sacked after just 39 days.

He described his experience at Nottingham Forest as "brutal," recalling being dismissed shortly after a match. "I wanted to leave; otherwise I was going to do something I regret. I wanted to get out of there," Postecoglou said earlier this year, reflecting on the difficulties of his departure.

Despite the struggles at Nottingham Forest, Postecoglou's previous successes, including ending Tottenham Hotspur’s trophy drought by winning the Europa League, and winning five trophies with Celtic, were noted as factors in securing the Al-Nassr role. He reportedly beat out competition from rivals, including current Portugal manager Roberto Martinez, for the position.
