Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has addressed concerns about star tight end Travis Kelce's physical condition, stating that the player is in good shape and refuting claims of a "dad body."

A video, believed to be AI-generated, circulated online showing an apparently overweight Kelce, prompting speculation among some fans as the Chiefs began training camp.

"Well, [Kelce] came back in good shape. I know everybody’s out there saying he’s got the dad body and all this stuff, but he looks the same to me that he’s always looked," Reid told NFL Network on Tuesday. He added that Kelce has been "playing like crazy" and has "done a nice job with everything" during camp so far.

Actual images of Kelce appear to show him in good physical condition, contradicting the AI-generated video. Athletic reporter Jesse Newell shared an unedited video on X of Kelce arriving at practice on Monday, writing, "Because I saw the fake Travis Kelce beer gut AI practice video about 10 times this weekend … here is what Travis Kelce looks like at Chiefs camp this morning."

Kelce, a 13-year NFL veteran, is coming off a season where he recorded 851 yards and five touchdowns on 76 receptions, a performance that led him to consider retirement. However, he signed a one-year, $12 million contract with the Chiefs in March, signaling his intent to continue playing. He cited his wife, Taylor Swift, and her work ethic as inspiration for returning for the 2026 season.

"He’s focused in and ready to go and I appreciate that," Reid said. "[He] has been here 14 years and wants to be out there every snap."

Kelce and Swift were married on July 3. The timing of their marriage allowed Kelce to be prepared for training camp as the Chiefs aim to improve after missing the playoffs last season.
