Former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Allen Robinson II announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday, his 33rd birthday, closing the book on an 11-year professional career.

"To every love story, there comes a final chapter," Robinson wrote on Instagram. "Football gave me more than I ever could’ve imagined."

Robinson's tenure with the Rams, which began in March 2022 with a three-year, $46.5 million contract, was marked by injuries and unmet expectations. During the Rams' 2022 title-defense season, he played in 10 games, recording 33 receptions for 339 yards and one touchdown before a foot injury ended his season prematurely. The team traded him to the Pittsburgh Steelers the following April.

Despite the disappointing stint in Los Angeles, Robinson's career was otherwise impressive. Originally a second-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2014, he developed into a Pro Bowl receiver and achieved three seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards. He also played for the Chicago Bears, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Detroit Lions. In 139 regular-season games, Robinson accumulated 565 receptions, 7,058 receiving yards, and 43 touchdowns.

Robinson last played in the NFL for his hometown Detroit Lions in 2024 and sat out the entire 2025 season before officially announcing his retirement. "I came, I saw, I conquered and I leave with nothing but gratitude," he stated.
