The 2026 INDYCAR season continues this weekend with a doubleheader at the historic Milwaukee Mile, featuring two 250-mile races on Aug. 29 and Aug. 30. The event marks the final oval competition of the season and offers a potential championship-clinching opportunity for current points leader Alex Palou.
The Snap-on Makers and Fixers 250 is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 29, with FOX coverage beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET and the green flag at 2:50 p.m. ET. The Snap-on Milwaukee Mile 250 follows on Sunday, Aug. 30, with FOX coverage starting at 1 p.m. ET and the race commencing at 1:20 p.m. ET.
Palou arrives in Milwaukee with a commanding 91-point lead over Kyle Kirkwood. With three races remaining on the schedule, including both events at the Milwaukee Mile, Palou could secure his fifth INDYCAR championship on Sunday. Christian Lundgaard, David Malukas, and Pato O'Ward trail Palou in the championship standings.
Kirkwood enters the weekend carrying momentum from his recent victory at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C., on Aug. 23. This marks the only doubleheader on the 2026 INDYCAR schedule.
The Milwaukee Mile, located at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis, Wisconsin, is the world's oldest continuously operating motor speedway, having opened in 1903. The 1.015-mile oval features 9 degrees of banking in its turns. Drivers must navigate the corners carefully, as the track configuration rewards cars that can rotate effectively without sacrificing straight-line speed, resembling characteristics of a road course.
Last year, Christian Rasmussen secured his first INDYCAR victory at Milwaukee in 2025, overtaking Palou with 16 laps remaining.
Practice sessions are scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28, with qualifying for Saturday's race taking place on Saturday morning. Sunday's schedule includes a warm-up session before the main event. All times are listed in ET. Broadcast times are subject to change.
