Abbey Holmes, a television sports presenter and former Australian Football League Women's (AFLW) player, is pregnant with her second child. She and her husband, Keegan Brooksby, who also had a career in Australian rules football, shared the news on Instagram. The baby is expected in January 2027.

Holmes posted an announcement featuring her husband and their son, Braxton. "Soon to be 4... Keegs, Braxxy & I are so excited to let you all know that we are growing our family, expecting another beautiful little baby to join us in Jan 2027!" she wrote. "We feel incredibly lucky to be in this position and can't wait for Brax to become a big brother - he's going to nail it! Xx."

Braxton, their first child, was born in June 2025. The couple had announced that pregnancy on New Year's Day in 2025. The family's expansion adds another chapter for the couple, who are prominent figures in Australian football.

Holmes played for Adelaide's inaugural AFLW team before transitioning to television. She is a regular on Seven's AFL coverage. Seven weeks after Braxton's birth, Holmes returned to broadcasting, stating her desire to show that women can balance careers and motherhood. She defended her decision against criticism from some social media users, emphasizing the importance of her work to her and expressing gratitude for the support that allows her to combine her television commitments with caring for a newborn.

Brooksby played as a ruckman for Gold Coast, West Coast, and Hawthorn. He has since moved into football administration and is currently the General Manager of AFLW for the Hawthorn Football Club, overseeing their women's football program.
