911 audio from a car crash involving San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan reveals that one of the drivers was reportedly "bleeding from the head." The audio, obtained by The California Post, documents the aftermath of a collision that occurred on July 14 near Shanahan's home in Palo Alto.

Shanahan, 46, was involved in a crash with an SUV. According to reports, he sustained multiple injuries, including a broken nose, three broken ribs, a fractured hand, a concussion, and required more than 40 stitches to his face. He was taken to a local hospital by paramedics and released the same day. The other driver involved in the incident was not injured, and authorities confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.

The dispatch audio, first alerted just after 6:13 p.m., includes an officer stating, "It's going to be a black Tesla vs. a blue Mercedes. There are reports of one driver bleeding from the head."

Despite his injuries, Shanahan is reportedly healing well, though he is still experiencing concussion symptoms, according to ESPN. His role in the upcoming NFL training camp will be limited. Assistant head coach Chris Foerster and defensive coordinator Raheem Morris are expected to take on expanded responsibilities during camp.

General manager John Lynch expressed optimism regarding Shanahan's recovery, telling reporters that the team anticipates him being healthy enough to coach the 49ers' opening game against the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne on September 10. "The timeline kind of takes care of itself. He's got to meet certain markers," Lynch said. "But I think the expectation is that long before that he'll be better."

Sean McVay, head coach of the Rams and a longtime associate of Shanahan, spoke with the 49ers coach recently. "Most importantly, thank God he and the other person involved is okay. Perspective is everything," McVay stated. "I think the most important thing is that he’s on the road to recovery. ... And Kyle’s a stud."

Shanahan, son of two-time Super Bowl-winning coach Mike Shanahan, has led the 49ers since 2017. The team is considered a strong contender in the NFC for the upcoming season.
