San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was involved in a serious car crash near his northern California home on July 14, resulting in multiple injuries. The 46-year-old coach sustained a broken nose, three broken ribs, and a broken hand. He also required over 40 stitches for facial lacerations and suffered a severe concussion.
According to reports, Shanahan is recovering well but continues to experience concussion symptoms. These injuries will limit his participation as the 49ers begin their training camp this weekend. Assistant head coach Chris Foerster is expected to take on a more significant role during training camp, with support from new defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, formerly the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons.
The 49ers' key players are scheduled to report for training camp on Saturday, with the first practice set for Sunday. Shanahan, the son of legendary NFL head coach Mike Shanahan, has been the head coach of the 49ers.
