San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan made a brief appearance at the team's first training camp practice on Sunday, just 12 days after being involved in a car accident that resulted in severe injuries.

Shanahan, who was obscured by sunglasses and a baseball cap, arrived midway through the practice and observed the team during 11-on-11 drills. He spoke with general manager John Lynch and greeted some players before leaving the field after approximately 30 minutes due to the heat.

Assistant head coach Chris Foerster led the practice while Shanahan was recovering. According to reports, Shanahan sustained multiple injuries in the July 14 accident, including 40 stitches to his face, a broken nose, two black eyes, and multiple broken ribs. He also suffered a concussion.

Despite the accident, Shanahan's appearance at practice showed few visible lingering effects, with a cast on his left hand being the only apparent sign of his injuries. General Manager John Lynch indicated that Shanahan's duties during training camp would be limited, primarily due to the concussion he sustained.
