Two individuals riding horses on Mount Shasta in California discovered hundreds of solar-powered Bluetooth speakers on June 23, emitting a range of peculiar noises.

Karrie Ann Snure and her daughter, Jordan, were riding when they heard strange screeching sounds. Their curiosity led them off the trail and into the brush, where they encountered at least 100 speakers protruding from the ground. As they ascended further, they found more hidden among the trees.

One speaker, placed in isolation, appeared to be broadcasting a sermon-like recording that Snure described as mentioning salvation. One isolated speaker appeared to be blasting a sermon-like recording that Snure said mentioned salvation

As dusk approached, the pair discovered what seemed to be an entire field filled with speakers, all emitting eerie sounds across the mountainside. Snure estimated that there were another hundred speakers in this area. As the mother and daughter headed home in the fading light, they made one final discovery: what appeared to be an entire field of speakers, all emitting eerie noises across the mountainside

Snure described the sounds as white noise, with all speakers playing the same audio. She noted that some of the more isolated speakers produced sounds that resembled human screams. The speakers were blaring white noise that at some times sounded like humans screaming

Snure later returned to the area and confirmed via OnX maps that the speakers are located on private property near California Government Lands. The purpose and originator of the speaker installation remain unknown, and there has been no official explanation from authorities.

Mount Shasta is known for its mystique, blending Indigenous lore, New Age spiritualism, and reported UFO sightings. Local Native American tribes consider the mountain sacred, viewing it as a creation center and a spiritual link between heaven and Earth. The area is also a frequent site for UFO reports, which meteorologists attribute to unusual cloud formations, while believers suggest the presence of extraterrestrial bases. Snure referenced the New Age legend of Lemuria, a mythical lost civilization believed by some to inhabit an underground city beneath the mountain, accessible through a network of tunnels. She speculated that the speakers might be part of a "Lemurian beacon system."
