The former Manchester United star appeared on Prime Video's coverage of the Champions League match between Manchester United and Roma, where he was complimented by presenter Alex Aljoe on his appearance.
Rooney, 41, confirmed he was wearing an old coat from his football career, noting, "Yeah I'm back in it." This appearance highlights a notable transformation in recent months, which has included a nose job, a slimmer physique, and Invisalign dental treatment.
Speaking with the Daily Mail prior to the release of a Disney+ series about him and his wife Coleen, Rooney shared that he had been working diligently in the gym to lose weight. He dismissed speculation that his transformation was due to weight loss injections, stating, "It's a shame, because I'm working really hard to lose weight. Apparently I've been on the pen."
Rooney also addressed his recent nose job, which he revealed in August. He explained that the operation was to correct a nose broken twice during his football career. Coleen Rooney had encouraged the surgery, initially due to his snoring, while Wayne clarified that it also addressed breathing issues. "I couldn't blow one side out of my nose and so I had it fixed," he said.
Coleen Rooney, who is also a regular at the gym and practices Pilates, discussed her own fitness routine, emphasizing its importance for maintaining her physique and enjoying her food. She stated, "I have to go to the gym to maintain because I'm only short, I want to enjoy my food. If I don't work at it I will put weight on and so that's something I have to do for myself, and to feel good."
Rooney's fitness push comes ahead of his anticipated participation in the reality television show "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!". He was confirmed as a contestant this week, with reports suggesting he is the highest-paid campmate this season, earning a salary comparable to what Coleen received for her appearance in 2024.
