Todrick Hall is approaching his renewed professional relationship with Scooter Braun with caution, despite Braun’s involvement as a producer on Hall’s new off-Broadway musical, “Midnight.”
“I don’t know how much trust there will ever fully be with somebody that you have such distrust with, but I love the fact that we’re both making a concerted effort to try to be better humans than we were six years ago,” Hall told Page Six in an exclusive interview.
Braun, who managed Hall for six years starting in 2013, reached out to the performer during the pandemic. Hall recounted that Braun apologized for past actions, and Hall, in turn, apologized to Braun. “I was just so grateful that I was able not to look at that chapter as a completely negative chapter,” Hall stated.
Their collaboration extends to the current production of “Midnight.” Hall revealed that Braun was enthusiastic about investing in the show, saying, “Not only am I proud of you, but I would like to be one of your first big investors because I always knew you could do this.” Hall also shared that Braun was emotional after seeing the musical, noting, “I’ve never seen Scooter cry, and he came to see the show and he was crying backstage and it was nice.”
The feud between Hall and Braun became public in 2019 when Hall publicly supported Taylor Swift following Braun's acquisition of her music masters. At the time, Hall described Braun on X as “an evil person who’s (sic) only concern is his wealth and feeding his disgusting ego.”
The run of “Midnight” at the Daryl Roth Theatre has been extended through January 3.
