Marcel Johnson, a social media personality who gained a following on TikTok, has died at the age of 32 following a battle with stomach cancer. His wife, Taylor, announced his death on Tuesday via Instagram.
Taylor Johnson shared a series of photos of the couple, writing, "November 2 2026 @ 445pm. I lost a whole entire half of me. He fought so hard for so long. He was so tired & exhausted & in so much pain." She added that his last words to her and their son, Dedric, were "I’m ready to go," though he continued to fight.
Johnson, a father of five, was known for creating family-oriented content online. His TikTok account has since been deactivated, though his Instagram account, which has 197,000 followers, remains active.
He was diagnosed with cancer in August 2025 and had been documenting his journey for the past 15 months. In August of the current year, Johnson posted on a GoFundMe page, explaining that he had lost his health insurance while undergoing treatment for Stage 4 cancer. He stated that donations would go towards medical care, treatments, and related expenses.
"Whether you donate, share my story, pray for me, or simply continue supporting my family, thank you. Every single dollar, share, prayer, and message means more than I could ever put into words," he wrote on the fundraising page. "I just want the chance to keep fighting, keep making memories with my family, and keep living."
A GoFundMe was established to raise $600,000 for his medical bills and family support. To date, nearly $357,000 has been raised.
In the weeks leading up to his death, Johnson shared videos detailing the physical toll of his illness. In one post from October 22, he wrote, "Can’t walk more than a few steps, can’t get myself dressed, down 125lbs and I’m officially defeated. I can’t continue this, I’m homesick." He expressed a desire to "choose peace" and acknowledged that he might not recover from further treatment.
His wife had marked their three-year wedding anniversary on September 30, reflecting on their journey through his illness. She wrote, "Life is so strange. 3 years ago we got married... I never knew a year ago if you’d even still be here to celebrate another anniversary, yet here we are. Not how we pictured when we got married 3 years ago, that’s for sure, but we are together. Through thick & thin, sickness & health."
