The Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa, nestled in the Texas Hill Country, is attracting couples seeking a rustic yet refined wedding experience, with bookings up 10% over the past three years. The 400-plus-acre resort, located along the Lower Colorado River about 30 minutes from Austin, offers what it calls "experiential weddings," transforming nuptials into extended events for guests.
"Nature is our love language," said Allison Jacques, director of events at the resort. The property provides various ceremony and reception venues capable of hosting anywhere from intimate gatherings to events for up to 1,000 people. Options include the Riversong Lawn, which can accommodate 800 guests, and the Wildflower Pavilion on the golf course for up to 150. Indoor spaces such as the Lost Pines ballroom (700 guests), Baron's ballroom (350 guests), and Pecan Court and Terrace (300 guests) are also available, with packages starting at $175 per person.
The Riverbend Event Barn, added in March of last year, offers 6,000 square feet of rustic-elegant indoor space for up to 275 guests. This venue features large windows with scenic views, a sweeping lawn, and a patio area. The resort also integrates its resident animals, such as longhorns and alpacas, into "hitching posts" for photo opportunities, and its trained "beer burros" can pass out party favors. Guests can also engage in activities like horseback riding, archery, tomahawk throwing, and trap shooting. The spa offers services like a Colorado River rock treatment and workshops for creating personalized body care products.
Culinary options are customizable, ranging from Texas barbecue to sushi, with an on-site omakase restaurant also available. Mackenzie Yandell West and Clay West, who married at the resort in September 2025, praised its ability to blend upscale amenities with a "rooted in Texas" feel. Their wedding, which included about 150 guests, featured activities like a family golf tournament, relaxation by the lazy river, and a rehearsal dinner followed by a ceremony with live music and a cocktail hour in the Hummingbird Garden. An unplanned after-party was accommodated at the resort's lobby bar, Maude's.
Guests with children can utilize Camp Hyatt, where a recreation team provides supervised activities and meals for children aged 5 to 13 for an additional fee. The resort's planning services include coordinating the rehearsal dinner and the main wedding ceremony and reception. Popular booking periods are spring and fall, with most weddings booked about 18 months in advance. Couples looking to host their wedding at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa are encouraged to book well in advance due to high demand.
