Taylor Frankie Paul has revealed that she accepted a marriage proposal at the end of her "Bachelorette" season, which was ultimately canceled. The disclosure came during an appearance on the "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" Season 5, featured on an episode of the "Get Real" podcast.

During a conversation with castmates Jessi Draper, Mikayla Matthews, and Mayci Neeley, Paul stated that a suitor, strongly implied to be Doug Mason, "did get down on one knee and propose." She confirmed that she accepted the proposal, saying, "Yes. Yes, I did [get engaged]."

However, Paul recounted significant drama upon her return home. She mentioned that she was texting with her ex, Dakota Mortensen, and he came over shortly after her return. Matthews quipped in response, "Umm… I think I know how that happened."

Paul's castmates noted similarities between Mason and Mortensen, including having the same initials and both being from Idaho. Paul claimed she was initially unaware of these parallels until her castmates pointed them out.

ABC canceled Paul's season of "The Bachelorette" earlier in the year after a video surfaced depicting a domestic dispute between her and Mortensen in 2023. The trailer for "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" Season 5 indicated that the show would explore the fallout from this decision and the ongoing conflict between Paul and Mortensen, with whom she shares a 2-year-old son, Ever.

In a separate scene from the "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" trailer, Mortensen is heard saying he is "obsessed" with Paul and is shown with a tattoo of her initials.

Reports from April indicated that Paul and Mason were reportedly attempting to reconcile. Insiders claimed at the time that the two were "hanging out recently and want to see if they can get back together and be a couple."

Paul and Mortensen have been involved in a contentious custody battle over their son, Ever, following several alleged incidents of domestic violence. Paul temporarily lost custody of Ever on March 19 after an investigation into another alleged domestic violence incident in February. Her parenting time was expanded following a custody hearing in July.

Season 5 of "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" premiered on Hulu on September 10.
