Sir Anthony Hopkins is set to release his debut album, "Life is a Dream," a collection of pieces he has been working on for over 60 years. The Oscar-winning actor's musical endeavor is a deeply personal project, with compositions drawing inspiration from his childhood memories, his Welsh roots, and the people closest to him. The album's title track, "Life is a Dream," is among the compositions.

One track, "My Fatherland," is a tribute to his Welsh heritage, honoring his "humble beginnings" as the son of a baker. Other pieces on the album are inspired by memories of his hometown, Port Talbot, visits with his grandfather, and early experiences at the cinema. These compositions reflect a lifetime of personal reflection and artistic exploration.

Decca Classics president Laura Monks described the recording process as a unique and special experience. She told BBC Radio Wales Drive that the team at Decca Classics was "thrilled" to work with Hopkins, calling him a "legend." Monks noted the palpable excitement within the office, as staff felt they were helping the actor fulfill a lifelong ambition. She recounted witnessing Hopkins record the album, observing his intense focus and providing notes, which she said left the team with "goosebumps." His extensive "life long knowledge" of classical music was evident to those present.
