Ryan Seacrest has revealed why he was unable to attend the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, despite having initially RSVP'd yes. Seacrest explained on his radio show, "On Air With Ryan Seacrest," that he had to cancel his attendance due to a hosting engagement with Disney.
"I RSVP’d to go, and then Disney hired me to do the Fourth of July 250 special on the 3rd and the 4th," Seacrest stated. "So I had to cancel."
He further elaborated that he felt conflicted about the decision, noting that he "couldn’t have done both" because the wedding was scheduled for the afternoon, overlapping with his work commitments. Seacrest described himself as being "so honored and thrilled to be invited" but ultimately had "no choice" as the Disney event was part of his professional responsibilities.
Seacrest recounted a prior conversation with Swift and Kelce at a restaurant where he verbally confirmed his attendance. Swift had reportedly expressed excitement about the wedding, saying, "Oh, it’s going to be so much fun. We’re gonna have the best time. It’s gonna go late." Seacrest shared his own anticipation at the time, stating, "I cannot wait. I’m so excited."
The wedding, which took place on Friday at Madison Square Garden, reportedly had over 1,000 guests in attendance, including numerous celebrities such as Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lopez. Seacrest, while absent from the ceremony, joked about keeping details of the wedding secret from his co-hosts, despite their discussions about the event.
Other notable absences from the wedding included some of Kelce's NFL teammates, who later expressed their surprise and disappointment. Meanwhile, Blake Lively was seen in upstate New York with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, rather than at the ceremony.
