Rosie O'Donnell revealed that her late "Nip/Tuck" co-star Julian McMahon described her as having a "nice rack" during their one and only intimate scene for the medical drama. O'Donnell recounted the experience on the "Good Hang" podcast, prefacing that McMahon was a gentleman during the filming.
This scene marked O'Donnell's first-ever sex scene in her career. She recalled wearing a tube top and underwear, with the intention of appearing nude for the scene. McMahon, she noted, was using a "cock sock" and was careful not to make physical contact with her, with his arms visibly shaking.
Production instructed O'Donnell to remove her tube top as it was visible in the frame. She expressed self-consciousness about the directive due to McMahon's perceived physical perfection, describing him as a "gorgeous—God rest his soul—Greek statue of a man."
O'Donnell then recounted her exchange with McMahon: "And so I pull down my tube top, and I say, ‘Julian those are my boobs.’ And he said, ‘Nice rack.’ And I said, ‘Really?’ and he said, ‘Yes.’"
McMahon, who played Dr. Christian Troy on FX's "Nip/Tuck," became well-known for his role. O'Donnell portrayed Dawn Budge, a recurring character who had a one-night stand with Dr. Troy in the show's fourth season.
Julian McMahon died in July 2025 at the age of 56, following a private battle with cancer. His wife, Kelly McMahon, confirmed his passing, stating he died "peacefully" after a "valiant effort to overcome" his illness. She added that his "deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible."
