Comedian Nick Mohammed has been announced as the host for the upcoming West End stage production of "The Traitors – Acts Of Betrayal." Mohammed, who was the runner-up as a Faithful on "Celebrity Traitors," will take over hosting duties from Claudia Winkleman for the new show.
The production is set to open at The Gillian Lynne Theatre in London on May 11, 2027. Mohammed recently participated in a promotional video where Winkleman administered "The Traitors" oath to him at Ardross Castle.
Mohammed expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating, "I couldn't be more delighted and privileged to take on Claudia's role in the stage version." He praised John Finnemore's script, describing it as "a cycle of five plays that are each as funny as they are moving, and of course, deeply, deeply unpredictable!" He also commended the direction by Robert Hastie.
"The Traitors – Acts Of Betrayal" will present each play as a complete, self-contained game, mirroring the television format where traitors are chosen, eliminations occur, and a winner is crowned within a single evening. A unique aspect of the stage production is its ability to explore alternative outcomes by presenting five different narrative paths. While each story begins identically from Monday to Friday, the audience will have the power on Saturdays to decide which of the five plays unfolds, influencing character fates and potential victories.
Stephen Lambert, CEO of Studio Lambert, highlighted the demands of the hosting role, noting that the actor must engage a live audience throughout an entire game each night, in five different ways. He stated that Mohammed possesses the necessary "charm, mischief, acting talent and complete control of the stage," adding that his prior experience as a contestant is a significant advantage.
