Molly Ringwald has identified "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" as her most challenging professional experience, attributing the difficulty to a "really difficult" co-worker.
During an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" on Tuesday, Ringwald was asked to rank her past projects. She placed the 2008 ABC Family drama series in the lowest position, confirming it as "the worst."
"I love the cast. I love Shailene Woodley," Ringwald stated about her time on the show, where she played Anne Juergens, the mother of Woodley's character. "There was one person that was really difficult. And I’m not gonna say who that one person is [but] they brought it down to a one."
Ringwald, who appeared in 96 episodes of the show between 2008 and 2013, did not specify whether the individual was an actor or a crew member.
The series focused on Amy Juergens, portrayed by Woodley, who became pregnant at 15. The cast also included Mark Derwin, Ken Baumann, Daren Kagasoff, India Eisley, Francia Raisa, and Steve Schirripa.
In contrast, Ringwald expressed strong positive feelings about her experience filming the 1986 film "Pretty in Pink." She ranked the movie, her third collaboration with screenwriter John Hughes, as her favorite project, giving it a "10."
"It was written for me. He wrote the movie for me," Ringwald said of the romantic comedy.
