Mary Stavin, the Swedish-born actress famed for her roles in James Bond films and for winning Miss World in 1977, was recently seen on a rare public outing in Los Angeles with her husband, Nicholas Wilcockson. The 69-year-old actress appeared notably different from her well-known image from the 1970s and 1980s.

Stavin, who is reportedly poised for an acting comeback in an upcoming TV series, was dressed casually for the outing. She wore camouflage jeans, a loose-fitting off-white blouse, and an army-green jacket, complemented by shiny, silvery boots. Her blonde hair was styled to frame her face, and she wore sunglasses.

Born in Sweden in 1957, Stavin won the Miss World title at age 20. She went on to build an international career in acting and modeling before settling in California. Her Bond film appearances include a non-speaking role as an 'Octopussy Girl' in Octopussy (1983) and a more significant part as MI6 agent Kimberley Jones in A View to a Kill (1985), where she assisted Roger Moore's James Bond in a mission in Siberia.

Roger Moore, in his 2012 autobiography Bond on Bond, fondly recalled his on-screen interactions with Stavin, writing that 'floating away on board a submarine with Mary Stavin must be many men's dream.'

Stavin's career also includes roles in horror films such as House (1985) and Open House (1987), as well as other films like Strike Commando 2 (1988) and Born to Fight (1989). She also made guest appearances in television shows, including two episodes of Twin Peaks in 1990 and one episode of Days of Our Lives in 1995. Her last credited film appearance was in Barking Mad in 2021.

Beyond her acting career, Stavin's personal life garnered media attention in the 1970s and 1980s due to high-profile relationships with British football stars Don Shanks and George Best. She was briefly married to actor Steve Jamieson in the late 1980s, followed by a five-year relationship with cameraman William Holdsworth. She married Nicholas Wilcockson in 1995, and their daughter, Liliana Rose, was born the following year. The couple resides in Beverly Hills.

Stavin is one of several actresses who have appeared in multiple Bond films, a distinction also held by Eunice Gayson, Maud Adams, and Lea Seydoux.
