Marina Bye Joins Cast of 'The Inbetweeners' Movie

Marina Bye, daughter of comedian Ruby Wax, has landed a breakthrough role in the upcoming movie of the popular British sitcom "The Inbetweeners." The 33-year-old actress is set to join the original cast members Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison, reprising their roles as Will McKenzie, Simon Cooper, Jay Cartwright, and Neil Sutherland, respectively.

Bye was photographed on set wearing a bridal gown, hinting at her character's involvement in a wedding storyline. The film's plans were announced last month, and it follows the original series, which aired from 2008 to 2010, and two subsequent films in 2011 and 2014, as well as a 2019 reunion.

Marina Bye, whose father is TV producer Ed Bye, is one of three children. Her older sister, Madeline, also pursued an acting career and has appeared in films such as "A Caribbean Dream" and "Breathe." The sisters have collaborated on a comedy podcast and performed together at the Edinburgh Fringe festival under the name "Siblings Comedy."

Before her role in "The Inbetweeners" movie, Bye had roles in Amazon Prime Video's "The Girlfriend," Hulu's "We Were The Lucky Ones," "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy," and "Wonka."

Her mother, Ruby Wax, has spoken about her children's creative endeavors, noting their shared sense of humor and adventurous spirit. "When they are all round for dinner they make [brother] Max laugh so much he cries," Wax said in 2017, referring to her son Max, who works as a computer coder.

The return of "The Inbetweeners" has generated significant fan interest, with speculation about potential storylines. There have also been reports that streaming bosses are hoping for the return of Emily Atack, who played Charlotte 'Big Jugs' Hinchcliffe in the original series, despite rumors of a past feud with James Buckley.
