Love Island has been hit with 186 complaints to the UK's broadcast regulator, Ofcom, over a single week, with the majority stemming from viewer concerns about the behavior of male contestants towards female participants. The complaints were logged between June 16 and June 22, according to reports.

Fans expressed dissatisfaction with specific interactions, including one instance where Tommy's kiss with Namibia was described as 'forced.' Tommy, a builder from Newcastle, was also noted for kissing Ellie and attempting to kiss Priya within the same evening. Viewers found some of his advances towards Namibia particularly uncomfortable to watch.

Heart Rate Challenge Sparks Tension

Viewer dissatisfaction intensified following the show's annual Heart Rate challenge, where male islanders dress up in various costumes to perform for the female contestants, with their heart rates monitored. This year, the male contestants appeared as builders, bikers, and businessmen, among other roles. Tommy, dressed as a waiter, performed a gesture involving a shot glass for Jasmine, which was observed by a displeased Kavan from the terrace.

Kavan later confronted Tommy about the incident, questioning his actions. Meanwhile, Aidan performed for Yasmin, stating, "This ain't over yet, baby." The challenge's results revealed shifts in affections, with one boy's heart rate reportedly elevated by a former flame rather than his current partner, causing disquiet among the islanders.

Public Vote Puts Islanders at Risk

Following the challenge and subsequent discussions, a public vote was announced to determine the favorite girl and boy. The islanders with the fewest votes were subsequently revealed to be at risk of being dumped from the villa. The show airs on ITV and ITVX at 9 p.m.

The complaints to Ofcom highlight ongoing viewer scrutiny of the show's dynamics and the interactions between contestants.
