Influencer Lorna Luxe is planning to move back into her and her late husband John's £2.5 million home, known as the 'Ghost House,' approximately six months after his passing. John Luxe died in February following a battle with stage four adrenal cancer, diagnosed in 2023. The couple purchased the property in 2023, but it was flooded and they had to vacate in 2025.
They had been residing in a £2 million rental property where John died. Luxe, 43, has stated her intention to return to the home they shared and loved. "The repairs started last September, so I’m grateful that we had that summer there together. John swishing about the garden in his yellow shorts is a memory I will cherish," she said. "We’d hoped to be back there together, but his cancer got the better of us, and he died in our rental house in February."
Luxe, accompanied by her Maltese terrier Kev Bear, is preparing to move back into the house. She also expressed a desire to potentially get another dog for protection. "So now it’s just me on my own, squaring up to move back in. Well, me and my Maltese terrier Kev Bear. I’m tempted to get him a doggy brother – one that can bite any burglars who fancy their chances!"
In her column for The Sun, Luxe revealed plans to place John's ashes in an urn in her garden, where she can "sit and have a brew with him." The 'Ghost House' is characterized by its transparent design and a sloped setting that conceals it from view. Its architecture features 5,000 square feet of exposed concrete, accessed through a black reflecting pool.
The property's design includes a full first floor dedicated to the main bedroom, with an en suite bathroom, and a cinema room. The home is intended to appear 'invisible' and is structured as a cluster of seven pods connected by a glazed corridor.
Luxe recalled John leaving her a list of safety instructions, including not wearing her 15-carat engagement ring, which he bought to celebrate their 15th anniversary, as a measure against potential burglary. The ring is currently stored securely elsewhere.
Lorna and John Luxe met when she was 25, during her eight-year career as a flight attendant for Virgin Atlantic. John left his banking career to build a brand with her, initially incurring £300,000 in debt, but believed strongly in her potential for success.
Following John's death, Luxe has considered the possibility of having children. She stated that in the years prior to his passing, they focused on living life to the fullest. Luxe also indicated that any future relationships would likely be kept more private.
In April, Luxe spoke about John's death, describing it as a "slow and sad" process where "every breath became a chore," differing from her imagined peaceful passing. She also found short, sweet notes he left on his phone for her, along with a "funny" list of individuals she was not permitted to date.
