‘Lioness’ Star Laysla De Oliveira on Explosive Season 3 Rescue Episode
Laysla De Oliveira, who portrays Cruz, discusses the pivotal rescue of Joe and teases further developments in the season finale.
The latest episode of Taylor Sheridan's series "Lioness" delivered a long-awaited moment for viewers as Joe (Zoe Saldaña) was rescued in season three's seventh episode. The dramatic rescue culminated in a gunfight after Texas police intercepted Joe's captors, followed by a tactical intervention from Joe's team via helicopter and ground support.
Laysla De Oliveira, who plays Cruz on the show, shared her reaction to the pivotal episode in an interview with ScreenRant. Despite knowing the plot points due to the non-linear shooting schedule, Oliveira expressed satisfaction with the resolution of Joe's storyline. "I'm just so happy that we're finally rescuing her," Oliveira stated. "It's another thing watching with everyone and being like, 'Damn, they're right, like, X amount of weeks have gone by, and we haven't found Joe.' I'm happy that we can give that to the audience, that that is resolved, and that also that there is more to come."
The episode's conclusion sets the stage for the season three finale, titled "The Unraveling." Online discussions, particularly on Reddit, are speculating about the identity of a mysterious mole within the organization, a significant plot point yet to be revealed. The title of the finale echoes that of "Yellowstone" season one's finale, leading some to wonder if Sheridan is drawing parallels in stakes and narrative tension between the two series.
