The cast for the third season of the comedy competition series "Last One Laughing" has been announced, with a new group of comedians set to face off in the unique challenge. The upcoming installment will feature Lee Mack, Katherine Ryan, Harry Hill, Katherine Parkinson, Michelle de Swarte, Jon Richardson, Morgana Robinson, Josh Jones, and Richard Ayoade.
Ayoade is a returning contestant from the show's first season. Roisin Conaty, who served as Jimmy Carr's deputy in the control room for the previous seasons, will join the competition as a participant. Former contestant Mel Giedroyc is set to step into the role of co-host.
The series, hosted by Jimmy Carr, pits comedians against each other in a confined space for six hours. The core premise requires participants to avoid laughing or smiling, with the last comedian remaining uncrowned the winner. The third season is slated to launch in 2027.
The second season of "Last One Laughing" concluded earlier this year. The final episode saw contestants Mel, Bob Mortimer, Sam Campbell, and David Mitchell vying for the title. In a first for the series, the competition ended with a tie-breaker after Mortimer was eliminated by Mitchell in a sudden-death round.
Mitchell was ultimately declared the winner after a final head-to-head challenge with Campbell. The tie-breaker involved reviewing footage from earlier episodes to determine who had elicited the most laughs from other contestants throughout the season. This conclusion reportedly left some viewers dissatisfied, with some expressing on social media that the tie-breaker was anticlimactic.
"Last One Laughing" seasons one and two are currently available for streaming on Prime Video.
