Lindsey Vonn is navigating a new phase in her personal life, striving for a balanced approach to publicizing her relationship with boyfriend Matthieu Bailet. Vonn, 42, expressed her desire to avoid the extremes of oversharing or complete secrecy that marked past relationships.
"I think in my past it’s kind of been mixed of keeping things private and maybe oversharing," Vonn told People magazine. "I’m trying to strike a nice balance."
She described Bailet, a 30-year-old fellow alpine ski racer, as "amazing" and stated she is "really happy." While she wants to share her happiness, Vonn indicated she will be more reserved with details moving forward. The couple attended the Gucci show during Milan Fashion Week in September, where they posed for photographs together.
Vonn publicly acknowledged the relationship in a September Instagram post that featured affectionate snapshots from the summer, during which she was rehabilitating from injuries sustained at the 2026 Olympics.
Rumors of their romance first surfaced in May when Vonn and Bailet were observed together in New York City, including a shopping trip in SoHo and a backstage appearance at "The Outsiders" musical. This marks Vonn's first public relationship since her 2025 separation from business executive Diego Osorio. Previously, she was engaged to NHL player P.K. Subban before their breakup in 2020. Vonn also dated Tiger Woods from 2013 to 2015, following her 2011 divorce from skier Thomas Vonn.
