Lily Collins has bid an emotional farewell to her character Emily Cooper, concluding her final day of filming for the Netflix series "Emily in Paris" on Friday. After seven years embodying the optimistic American marketing executive, Collins described the experience as "surreal and bittersweet."

In an emotional Instagram post, Collins shared her feelings about wrapping up the series, stating, "It’s impossible to find the words for what this journey has meant to me." She reflected on how Emily has been a significant part of her life, continuously surprising, inspiring, and challenging her over the seasons. Collins extended her gratitude to the show's director, Darren Star, for creating the character, and thanked the "unparalleled crew, our writers, our directors, and of course our incredible cast who is now family."

"You have made Emily, Emily. You made this world feel like home," she wrote, also thanking the show's global audience for their support over the past seven years and six seasons. Collins concluded her message by saying, "I will carry this chapter with me forever. Saying goodbye feels completely surreal and bittersweet, but mostly, I feel so incredibly proud and grateful that I got to be her. And be part of something so joyful. This has forever changed me. Au revoir, Emily Cooper…"

Netflix released first-look images of Collins and her co-stars ahead of the sixth and final season, which is scheduled for release on December 24. The images feature Collins in various fashionable outfits, hinting at the character's signature style. Other cast members seen in the preview include Ashley Park as Mindy Chen and Lucien Laviscount as Alfie. Minnie Driver also made an appearance, marking her return after a car accident in France.

The upcoming season was partly filmed in Greece, with previous episodes primarily shot in Paris. The series chronicles the journey of Emily, a marketing executive from Chicago who lands a dream job in Paris. The fifth season saw Emily dividing her time between Paris, Rome, and Venice as she navigated her career and romantic entanglements, ending with a cliffhanger involving her ex-boyfriend Gabriel.
