Kim Kardashian is still determined to become a lawyer and plans to retake the California bar exam, despite failing her first attempt. The 46-year-old reality television star revealed her continued dedication to her legal aspirations in a recent interview.
'I am always thinking about the bar,' Kardashian told People at the New York City premiere of "All's Fair" season 2. 'I'm going to take my time and wait until the moment is right, when I have some free time to focus on it.'
Kardashian embarked on her legal journey in 2019, inspired by her late father, Robert Kardashian, a prominent attorney. She opted for California's Law Office Study Program, an apprenticeship path rather than a traditional law school. This program requires four years of supervised study. Kardashian completed the program last year and subsequently took the California bar exam, which she failed.
Despite the setback, Kardashian has remained resolute. She previously addressed her followers on social media after failing the exam, stating, 'Falling short isn't failure - it's fuel. I was so close to passing the exam and that only motivates me even more.'
She also acknowledged her role in the legal drama "All's Fair," where she portrays a divorce lawyer, noting, 'I'm not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV.' While she awaits the right time to dedicate herself fully to further study, she can only work in legal fields that do not require a license to practice.
Kardashian has previously passed the 'baby bar' exam in 2021, after failing it three times, and reportedly passed the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam. Her mentor, criminal-justice reform attorney Jessica Jackson, has guided her studies since 2018 and noted Kardashian's self-discipline in pursuing the rigorous path without the structure of traditional law school.
