Kevin Bacon, his wife Kyra Sedgwick, and their son Travis Bacon made a rare family appearance on the red carpet Wednesday at Lincoln Center in New York City for the showcase of their new film, "Family Movie." The horror-comedy feature, co-directed by Bacon, 68, and Sedgwick, 61, also stars their children, Travis, 37, and Sosie, 34, with Liza Koshy also teasing her involvement.

The film is slated for theatrical release on April 23, 2027. Bacon shared the news on Instagram, writing, "It’s official!! #FamilyMovie will officially be releasing in theaters April 23, 2027! We can’t wait to share this with all of you. Stay tuned!" Sedgwick also posted about the premiere on Instagram, calling it "gory good."

"Family Movie" follows a filmmaking family, the Smiths, whose low-budget horror production devolves into a real-life slasher scenario when a dead body appears on set, forcing the family to try and keep the project going amidst the chaos.

Sosie Bacon, who was absent from the premiere, shared promotional material for the film on her Instagram account. During the event, Kevin Bacon presented a stark visual contrast to his son Travis, who sported long, black hair and a prominent arm tattoo.

Family Tributes

The premiere coincided with Kyra Sedgwick's 61st birthday. Kevin Bacon shared a video montage celebrating his wife of over three decades, whom he met in 1987. Sosie Bacon posted a photo with her mother, describing her as a "goddess among us." Travis Bacon shared a throwback photo from the set of the 1992 film "Singles," humorously apologizing to his mother for disrupting the poster shoot as a toddler.

Sedgwick acknowledged her birthday on social media, expressing gratitude for her 61 years. Kevin Bacon previously reflected on directing "Family Movie" with his wife, telling People that it felt like a "pretty familiar place" and that his wife's co-directing presence was invaluable.
