Katie Price has revealed the extent of a black eye she sustained after receiving forehead filler just one day before the National Television Awards. The 48-year-old former glamour model appeared on the red carpet with a heavily made-up face to conceal the bruising.
In a video posted by makeup artist Mitchell Halliday, Price showed her bare face with the visible black eye, explaining the predicament. "He's [Mitchell] got his work cut out because yesterday I decided to have filler put in my temples," she said. "I had no idea of the swelling, and today it is the NTAs red carpet. He's got to work extra hard to transform this."
Halliday then demonstrated a step-by-step tutorial using his own beauty products to cover the bruises. The inspiration for the look, he explained, was large sunglasses paired with bold black eyeliner and highlight.
The National Television Awards marked Price's first public appearance following reports that she had ended her marriage to Lee Andrews, allegedly via text message.
Cosmetic Procedures and Appearances
Earlier on the day of the awards, Price had showcased new, larger breast implants. She had flown to Brussels for the cosmetic procedures, which also included an unspecified amount of filler in her face. Describing the facial filler, Price noted it made her "look like a hamster" due to swelling. She explained the filler was administered into her temples to address natural hollowing, but the subsequent swelling caused discomfort and an unusual appearance.
Price, who has undergone numerous cosmetic surgeries including an estimated 17 breast augmentations, also discussed her history of procedures on a recent television appearance. She estimated her total number of surgeries to be between 30 and 40, including multiple facelifts and a fox-eye operation. While she has received many procedures free of charge due to her fame, Price stated she has spent approximately £40,000 on surgeries over the years and could afford to pay for more if desired.
Her daughter, Princess, 19, accompanied her to the NTAs, appearing in a shimmering blue gown. Price herself wore a white shirt, lace hot pants, and black tights, accessorizing with large diamond earrings and styling her hair in a wet-look. The television personality has had approximately 17 boob jobs, with her most recent augmentation occurring earlier that summer.
The National Television Awards appearance follows the airing of a four-part documentary, "Katie Price: Nothing To Hide," which chronicled three decades of her life in the public eye.
