BAFTA-nominated actor Josh O'Connor, who gained recognition for his portrayal of Prince Charles in Netflix's "The Crown," has responded to rumors linking him to the role of James Bond.

"It's an incredibly bizarre pinch me moment... even being uttered in that same sentence and being considered for something like that," O'Connor stated, as reported by BBC News. He added that he is "very honoured" by the speculation but indicated there is "nothing to say beyond that."

O'Connor is reportedly among the actors participating in final auditions for the next James Bond. He is believed to be in contention for the role alongside fellow actors Callum Turner and Jack Lowden. The actor recently starred alongside Daniel Craig in the 2025 film "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery."

Daniel Craig concluded his tenure as James Bond with "No Time To Die" in 2021, after appearing in five films as the iconic spy. The search for his successor has been ongoing, with various names circulating in the media.
