Jen Affleck, star of the reality series "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives," has filed for divorce from her husband, Zac Affleck, in Utah. The filing occurred on Tuesday, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. Jen is also currently pregnant with the couple's fourth child.
Affleck submitted a proposed parenting plan along with her divorce petition. The couple met on the Mormon dating app Mutual in 2018 and married in 2019. They have three children: Nora, 4, Lucas, 3, and Penelope, 1.
Jen Affleck announced her fourth pregnancy in June via Instagram, though her husband was not featured in the announcement photos. The couple has openly discussed marital challenges on "SLOMW," with Jen previously stating that they attended therapy to improve their relationship. However, tensions persisted, particularly in Season 5, when Zac reportedly did not support Jen's career ambitions, including her desire to appear in "Sports Illustrated."
Jen expressed in a confessional that she felt Zac was not taking her dreams and goals seriously and that he seemed afraid of losing her. She also mentioned that Zac had threatened divorce if she accepted an acting role that involved a romantic relationship with another character.
Jen Affleck is set to star in the upcoming Hulu spinoff series, "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County," which follows the family's relocation from Utah to Southern California. The new series is scheduled to premiere on November 12.
