Food critic and author Tom Parker Bowles has named The Bird In Hand, a pub and dining room in London's Brook Green, as his favorite restaurant. Parker Bowles, who has been frequenting the establishment for nearly a decade, cited its blend of atmosphere, service, and reliable menu as the reasons for his loyalty.

In an article for the Daily Mail, Parker Bowles explained that while he enjoys a variety of cuisines and establishments for his professional work, his personal favorite is often the one closest to home, prioritizing basic hospitality and a relaxed atmosphere. He described The Bird In Hand as having "low, louche and sultry" lighting and a "proper bar," making it suitable for various occasions.

Following a change in ownership, Parker Bowles expressed relief that the new proprietor, Max de Nahlik, who also owns The Holland, retained the restaurant's popular Roman-style pizzas. For Parker Bowles, the "Diavola pizza and a bottle of rosé" (or red wine in colder weather) is a consistent choice, appreciated for its quality ingredients, crisp base, and tomato sauce with a kick. He also noted the prompt arrival of chili oil and flakes, the "joyous" service led by general manager Vlad, and the "eminently reasonable" prices. The restaurant's proximity to his home, a three-minute walk, is an added bonus.

The Bird In Hand is located at 88 Masbro Rd, London W14, and its website is thebirdinhandlondon.com. A meal there is estimated to cost about £30 per person.
