Ellie Goulding's new single, "4 Seasons," released today, offers a glimpse into her relationship with boyfriend Beau Minniear, the father of her four-month-old daughter. The song's lyrics suggest Goulding fell for Minniear despite initial reservations about his character.

In the track, set against the backdrop of a luxury hotel, Goulding sings, "Daydreaming, faint feelings, f*** around at the Four Seasons. I think that I might be falling in love with you." She continues, "No I don't usually trust guys like you/ But right now I don't care," a line that has drawn attention following revelations about Minniear's criminal past.

The Mail on Sunday previously reported that Minniear, 29, has a criminal record stemming from a 2018 arrest in Palm Beach, Florida. He faced charges including robbery without a firearm, felony battery resulting in serious bodily injury, and marijuana possession. According to police documents, Minniear and two other individuals were arrested after an altercation in which a homeless man reported being assaulted and robbed of his wallet.

Minniear was found with seven grams of marijuana and was the only one in the group charged with a drug offense. After serving two days in jail, he admitted to misdemeanor battery as part of a plea agreement and was granted probation in November 2018, ordered to pay court costs.

This romance marks a shift for Goulding, who was previously married to art dealer Caspar Jopling, 34. They divorced in 2024 after seven years of marriage. Their wedding ceremony in 2017 at York Minster was attended by notable figures including Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Jopling, who has a background in art dealing and rowing, is reportedly worth millions. The couple share a five-year-old son, Arthur.
