Claire Foy, Jack O'Connell, and Guy Pearce attended the photocall for their new film "Ink" at the Venice Film Festival on Wednesday. The movie is set to open the 83rd Venice International Film Festival.
Foy, 42, arrived in an oversized grey shorts suit featuring a charcoal blazer with black lapels, paired with a white top and matching Bermuda shorts. She accessorized with burgundy sandals and an emerald green clutch. O'Connell, 36, wore a white Henley top with black trousers and shoes, while Pearce, 58, opted for a brown blazer over a white shirt, blue jeans, and sunglasses.
The film, directed by Danny Boyle, centers on Rupert Murdoch's 1969 acquisition of The Sun newspaper and his appointment of Larry Lamb as editor. Pearce portrays Murdoch, and O'Connell plays Lamb, who was tasked with transforming the publication into a tabloid that could rival the Daily Mirror.
Foy plays Jules Davies, the only female reporter hired for the newspaper's new team. The narrative unfolds against the backdrop of 1969, including the Apollo 11 Moon landing, as Lamb assembles a newsroom to relaunch The Sun.
James Graham adapted "Ink" from his 2017 stage play, which premiered in London's West End and later transferred to Broadway, earning multiple awards. This film marks a reunion for Boyle and O'Connell, who previously worked together on "28 Years Later."
Boyle expressed his honor at opening the festival in Venice. "Ink" is scheduled to release in UK cinemas on January 8. The Venice International Film Festival continues until September 12.
