Celine Dion Greets Fans Barefoot on Paris Hotel Car
The singer celebrated her comeback shows with energetic public appearances outside her hotel.

Celine Dion, 58, engaged with fans outside her Paris hotel, dancing barefoot on a car and lying on its bonnet following her comeback shows. Dion, dressed in a khaki green bomber jacket and black trousers, greeted crowds with an animated display and took a bow on the vehicle's front.

The singer is in the French capital for a five-week residency, her first series of concerts since canceling the remainder of her Courage world tour in 2023. This return follows her diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) in December 2022, a condition that causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms.

In an emotional speech during her Paris residency's opening night, Dion stated she had decided to make her health battle 'my reason for living.' She described her journey as rocky and longer than expected but expressed gratitude for fan support, saying, 'I'm standing on stage in this city that I love so much, thanks to your support and your love.' She added that the condition had at times left her unable to walk properly or use her singing voice as before.

Dion's rehabilitation program includes new medication, physical therapy, vocal therapy, and immunotherapy. She has been undertaking 90-minute Pilates sessions three times a week, along with twice-weekly ballet and barre classes to maintain her strength. Her home gym is equipped with weights, a treadmill, and a reformer machine, contributing to increased flexibility.

Despite the challenges of SPS, which she refers to as a progressive condition rather than a 'disease,' Dion has appeared in high spirits during her recent public interactions in Paris. The residency includes 16 shows scheduled for autumn 2026 and an additional 10 dates in May 2027.
