Celine Dion Engages with Fans After Paris Residency Show
The singer, who recently returned to the stage after a health diagnosis, greeted fans outside her Paris hotel.
Celine Dion, 58, continued to connect with fans outside her Paris hotel following her recent comeback shows.
On Friday night, the singer was seen dancing barefoot on top of a car and interacting with her audience before lying down on the vehicle's bonnet. She wore a khaki green bomber jacket and black trousers, with her hair styled in a low bun. This energetic display comes as Dion is in the French capital for a five-week residency, marking her return to the stage after canceling the remainder of her Courage world tour in 2023.
In December 2022, Dion revealed her diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), a neurological disorder that causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms. The condition had previously impacted her ability to walk and sing.
During the opening night of her Paris residency, Dion delivered an emotional speech, stating she had decided to make her health battle "my reason for living." She spoke of her difficult journey but expressed gratitude for the support of her fans, which allowed her to return to the stage. "I made a promise to be back on stage. So here I am, singing for you and singing for me, singing live!" she said, thanking her audience for their support and love.
Dion described the progression of SPS as a challenge, noting, "It is a progressive condition. I don't like to say 'disease.'"
Her rehabilitation program has included new medication, physical therapy, vocal therapy, and immunotherapy. She has also been engaged in a rigorous fitness regimen, including 90-minute Pilates sessions three times a week and twice-weekly ballet and barre classes. Her home gym is equipped with weights, a treadmill, and a reformer machine, and she has reported increased flexibility.
In her 2024 documentary, "I Am: Celine Dion," the singer shared the impact of her condition. Despite the challenges, she has recently appeared in high spirits while greeting fans in Paris.
The residency schedule includes 16 shows in autumn 2026 and an additional 10 dates in May 2027.
